Being in Milwaukee for the 100th and 105th anniversaries of Harley was just amazing. Truly a sight to behold as thousands upon thousands of motorcycle – scratch that – HARLEY riders paraded through town. Marketed as a slice of Americana – proud and powerful – always leading and never relenting – it’s easy to see how and why the brand has become such an integral part of consumer’s LIVES (just as you suggest.) I don’t drive motorcycles, but, if I did, you could bet the first brand I’d look at would be Harley Davidson. (I can still hear the classic “potato, potato, potato” sound of those engines as they made their way into town on the Holn Bridge. Wow)

And, as far as Nike goes, wow. Emotional connections from jump street all the way until today. I remember watching this from one of my favorite marketing consultants, ever, Graeme Newell. This is a pretty good speech on the brand and it’s connections to add on to your great thoughts.
