Eating the Alphabet - "D" is for Division Ale House

Division Ale House was our stop for "D" on the "Eating the Alphabet" series. We ordered Irish nachos and the black and tan mac and cheese. Our waitress was friendly and on the ball. We got there early so we were the only customers.

When I saw Irish nachos on the menu, I got excited because I was envisioning the Irish nachos I saw on the Skinny Taste blog. The Irish nachos at Division Ale House fell flat for me because the potatoes were cooked too long for my liking (as you can see in the photos, they are quite brown).

The mac and cheese was pretty good, although, as I said in my post for Bellwether, it is hard to mess up mac and cheese. The beer flavors in Division Ale House's mac and cheese was stronger than it was in Bellwether's, so, that is a good thing if you are a beer drinker.

Irish Nachos
("Potato skins smothered with Cheddar cheese, diced applewood-smoked bacon, house-made salsa and sour cream")

Black and tan mac & cheese
("Cavatappi pasta, creamy cheddar cheese sauce, Harp Irish lager, Guinness stout... with house-made smoked chicken")

Eating the Alphabet - "C" is for Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba

Before my boyfriend Timmy and I had planned our first stop for my "Eating the Alphabet" series, we knew we wanted to go to Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba for the letter "C." In fact, we had been meaning to go before I had even came up with the idea for the series since one of our friends works there.

I had never been to a tapas restaurant before, so, I enjoyed being able to order so many different small plates to share. It was also the first time my boyfriend and I had tried sangria (it was delicious). The next time we go to Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba, I want to try the white peach sangria (made with peach schnapps and Absolut Apeach).

Short rib-stuffed piquillo pepper and black raspberry sangria (made with Skyy Infusion Raspberry)

Spicy potatoes with tomato alioli and complimentary bread

Pork with a salsa verde sauce and skewered chicken and chorizo sausage

Gala apple empanada with spiked "43" dipping sauce and housemade mango sorbet
(Side note, the desserts were so inviting that I forgot to take a photo before we dived in!)
