Blinded by blanks (scene from In Bruges)

I have been in a bit of a funk lately, which is why I have not been posting much. The weather certainly isn't helping my mood. Yesterday had a low of -16F, with windchills 40-50 below zero. It has left me not wanting to venture off the comfort of my cozy couch and piles of blankets. On the plus side, the cold weather has given me the chance to reflect on how fortunate we really are. I could not imagine living in the midwest during the winter without a home or working heat. And there isn't anything much more wonderful than a hot shower on a cold day.

All that said, I felt that it was time to update my blog, yet I do not have much of interest to share. Timmy and I considered going out on New Years but decided with the cold, and the fact that Timmy had to work the next day, we would rather stay inside. We had a (not at all) wild night watching movies, playing dominos, and having a few drinks. We watched "Dead Man Down" on Netflix, and then we watched another Colin Farrell movie, "In Bruges." I am not one for watching movies more than once, but that is a movie I will gleefully watch over and over. It is such an amazingly funny movie. Which leads me to the point of this post. I have taken screenshots and captioned a few of my favorite scenes from TV, however, I have never done so for my absolute favorite movie. I will definitely be sharing more scenes from In Bruges in the future.

P.S. If you haven't already seen the movie, you should (it is even currently available for streaming on Netflix).

  1. You know, I'm embarrassed to say that I've never seen In Bruges! It's so universally acclaimed, it's really an embarrassment on my personal record.

We've been so busy/spent lately that we haven't posted much either! On New Years Eve, we went to a friend's wedding, came home early, and watched Top Gun. How's THAT for keeping it tame?
