Friday Favorites - Dolly Clackett blog

It has been over a year since I have done a Friday Favorites post, however, I've found just the person worthy of my brief return to Friday Favorites.

Over the last year I have been dreaming about the limitless possibilities that come with sewing your own clothes. I kept putting off buying a sewing machine because I was afraid that shortly after receiving it, the novelty would wear off, and the sewing machine would become a dust collector. My boyfriend bought me one for Christmas last year, so, I feel more obligation to make use of it. The good kind of obligation that keeps me from being lazy.

A large part of what got me excited about sewing my own clothes is seeing all the wonderful things that other bloggers make. A couple months ago when I had picked out the Butterick patterns 5748 and 5605, I did a Google image search of the patterns to see more real-life examples of the dress. In the process, I came across Roisin, owner of the blog Dolly Clackett. Roisin had sewn several amazing dresses using the 5748 pattern (first and fourth picture below). If you love sewing, fashion, or adorable things, hop on over to the Dolly Clackett blog. You also can find the Dolly Clackett blog on Twitter. All the amazing dresses below were sewn by Roisin.
